W007! Another one tonight. Haha!

This is a dress that was vaguely inspired by a dress in an AMEX Red ad of all things. (It's in the UK edition of Vogue for October, pg 204, also here) I couldn't really figure out what the actual dress was supposed to look like, and I came up with this.

The crosshatching is lace, and all those bumpy edges around it are lace too.

The middle panel of the skirt is separate from the rest. The rest of the skirt is supposed to be really flowy. Lots of gathers of fabric. The edges that are beside the middle panel are supposed to be all rippley like.

Yeah, I guess it should probably not be cut up THAT HIGH. Haha. But it's the -idea- that counts. Or something.

I'm not sure about the choaker. Was thinking maybe it should have fabric beneath the lace in the same colour as the dress? And the gloves for that matter? Maybe if it was being work in cooler weather...

After I posted it I started thinking about colours. I originally coloured it that purple swatch at the side, and then changed it to red because that was what I originally had in mind. Then I was talking to ~Karmasgonnagetme about colours and she mentioned that the lace around the edges would look snazzy in white. Then I started thinking about things like:

purple with gold lace and edges
purple with creme lace and edges
creme with black lace and edges (really any colour with black or white)
black with white
black with gold

Yes. Colours are fun.
